For the operational needs of the ANKA synchrotron, a pair of interchangeable X-ray detectors, one with high resolution and the other with high numerical aperture, has been developed.
The systems are designed for a specific magnification and the focusing is motorised. Since it was assumed that only one of the systems that best suits the needs of the experiment would be used on a given beamline at any given time, the top section, on which the actual CCD camera is mounted and which takes care of the camera panning along the optical axis, was designed to be removable and easily mountable on both systems.
The actual rotation of the cameras is again motorised. By relocating the top part, and using part of the components on both systems, price minimization was achieved.
